Valentine's Ideas
I LOVE Valentine's day, and am totally ready to kick it off as soon as a new year begins. If you have stocked up on any of our little spoons or scoops, or have left overs from a party, or if you want to hop over an pick out your favorite new design, we have some ideas for you to use them for Valentine's treats!
All photos by J. Pollack Photography
The top jar is filled with Starburst minis. I love the colors, they are like sweet little mosaic tiles. The second photo uses mini cereal boxes, and the bottom idea is for packages of hot cocoa.
I actually really love handwritten notes on Valentine's day, but we also have lots of fun free printables on our pinterest board. I am just crazy about our Valentine's pin board, everything is so pink and heart-y!
Let's great ready... can't wait to show you more of what we have in store for your Valentine's.

Rimmed Ice Cream Cones
To kick off Summer time, we thought we'd kick up some ice cream cones! Hey, we rim a margarita glass with salt, why not rim an ice cream cone too?
We love sweets, but also the salty and sweet combo, so we found a fun way to add those flavors to your ice cream cone without making your own ice cream!
You'll want to get some supplies together, set out your various toppings in bowls and use our scoops to dish out your ingredients. Don't forget ice cream spoons for anyone who prefers a bowl. need some caramel as the base. We used dulce de leche from World Market at the glue to hold our toppings on. It's thick and doesn't run, you can spread it on with a knife.
Fun, fruity mini-marshmallows look so pretty and will make the kids happy.
Have fun creating your own cone rims! Licorice may not appeal to everyone, but it looks great and hey, I like it!
For the gourmet crowd, we crsiped some prosciutto. It's a little more delicate than bacon, and tastes great with the caramel and strawberry ice cream!
And here are the salty options. Pretzel cones are my favorite, but they're hard to find in the grocery store. Make your own! And while you're busy crushing pretzels, why not crush some potato chips too? (It takes amazing, I promise!) For the purists, we through in the original inspiration, a salted caramel rim.
Have fun!

Outdoor Movie Night!
We're celebraing warmer weather and the end of the school year with an outdoor movie screening! For info on how to get started, visit this article on setting up your outdoor theatre.
Once you've got the technical side down, it's time for the fun part: popcorn!
We've made our own popcorn bowls using a roll of tickets. Check out our DIY to find out how we did it.
To protect the ticket bowl and make it reusable, we layered it with aluminum foil before loading it up with popcorn.
We set out a few topping: cinnamon sugar, parmasean mixed with a little garlic salt, and trail mix (candy coated sunflowers and craisins), which we're serving with our striped scoops.
Another great gift idea: give a ticket bowl, some scoops and popcorn! It doesn't get much more fun for Summer.

How To Make A Ticket Bowl
These ticket bowls are so adorable! Ticket bowls are great accessories for parties and they also make the best gifts. Best yet, you don't have to be a crafty person to make a ticket bowl, anyone can do it.
Here's how to make a ticket bowl:
You'll need to purchase rolls of tickets, which you can probably pick up locally, at Party City, or order online from http://www.funcarnival.com, which links to Carnival Mart, a local store here in St. Louis with every party item imaginable.
We made our ticket bowls by simply pushing the ticket roll into bowl form. You can gently pull up the sides, and turn the ticket roll as you're working to be sure the shape is even. The tickets are wound into a roll so tightly that the bowl will stay on it's own, no glue is needed to hold it in place!
If you're interested in gifting these, you may want to add a layer or two of modge podge to laquer it. The spray works great for this! We kept things all natural and left off the spray so we wouldn't worry about the bowls being food safe for our popcorn.
You can find toppings scoops by Sucre Shop here.
Hope you enjoyed this ticket bowl DIY and run out to make some of your own. Stay turned to find out what else we planned for our outdoor movie night!

Eat, Drink & Have S'more
With our new vintage-designed ice cream cups debuting in Wintertime, we've been playing a lot with the idea of seasonality. Sucre Shop designer Lindsay put together this dreamy hot cocoa & ice cream combo which makes me go running for s'more toppings! The idea is that the same toppings are delish on cocoa and ice cream. Brilliant! The best part? We are giving you the free printable so you can put this little shin-dig together on your own. Here's how we did it:
Download your PDFS files here: Mini-signs // Large sign // Gift tags
After gathering out toppings and some mason jars, we filled them up and used our reversible tags to address them to our friends.
(Awwww, thanks Lindsay!)
Ice cream is ready to go, topped with your favorite seasonal treats.

Don't forget the cocoa!
Save room for s'more!
