A Sweet & Prickly Party

One of our favorite utensil designs is the cactus! And we're not the only ones, these seem to pop up everywhere! When we spotted these party pics on Hostess With The Mostess, we knew we had to share.

Thanksgivukkah

We're looking forward to something super special this year- the beginning of Hanukkah during Thanksgiving! This hasn't happened for a hundred years and won't happen for another gazillion, so we are definitely celebrating this event... cranberry sauce on lates this year! We've got forks for the event too, of course.

Did I mention there would also be gift tags? You can hardly give a gift without having the proper gift tags, can you?

We've also had a blast putting together this board on Pinterest of all of our favorite Thanksgivukkah things!
If you're celebrating Thanksgivukkah too this year, drop us a line and let us know what you're planning!

Roughing It

Head outdoors before the weather turns, and take some friends for a camping trip! We've rounded up some essentials, and some less-essential things you'll clearly need for a picture perfect camping trip.

Oh, don't forget to bring the Oreos and marshmallows and make some SMOREOS!

West Elm St. Louis

We got word a few months ago that a West Elm store was opening in St. Louis, and could hardly contain our excitement! So, imagine how we felt when we got an email from West Elm asking for our products for their store? Pretty great!
Cookies from Pint Sized Bakery
West Elm has partnered with Etsy to sell regional items in those stores. Visiting West Elm stores is a great way to shop for well designed susainable furniture, and is now also a great way to see items from local artists. What a great place! West Elm blogged about this venture here, with a great big feature showing Sucre Shop spoons! Hope you'll head over and support West Elm and local St. Louis makers.

Spoons vs Forks!

Which is best: spoons or forks? We've been having a heated debate at Sucre Shop over which utensil is king. Forks are pretty fly, obviously - but does that beat the stylishness of spoons? Which would YOU choose to use for apple pie a la mode? Vote below in the comments and help us heal our office rift ...

Our whales are huge!

Our gorgeous whale-print forks are new this season, and are already one of our best sellers. They're printed in a different way to our other forks, so we can make them multi-colored and super-bright, in this fun preppy colour combo.

Bonus whale fact: some whales can live up to 200 years!

Kiwi Magazine Feature

Kiwi magazine is dedicated to helping parents raise their children in the most natural way possible. They're a fantastic resource for recipes and activities, filled with beautiful pictures and a happy perspective on raising children.

This month Kiwi magazine editors rounded up some of their favorite natural items for parties, and included our stripes & dots forks! (They also got thrown into a pretty shot with some yummy looking quesedillas... mmmmmmmm!) Thanks Kiwi!

We all love a little... vintage!

Henry the fox || vintage label || mason jar love fan handles || picnic cooler ||
holly the vintage trailer || balloon toppers || vintage stripe forks ||

Sometimes it's the look of vintage we love, and sometimes it's the actual feel of something that has been worn, used or loved before. We all want to be around things we love, and there's something about Summertime that makes us love vintage!

This Summer, we hope you'll enjoy, parties, picnics and nights together with people you love, and also the things you love, too.

Father's Day at Sucre Shop

Husbands and Dads, great ready for Guiness stout brownie pretzel bars! I am so excited to treat the men in my life to some of these! And it doesn't hurt that I can also enjoy some of this Dad's day gifting.

Of course we'll be eating them up with some of our more manly forks!
The bikes are a custom order. (You did know we do custom orders, right?)
Mustache forks are waiting for you here, and don't forget the perfect forks for the Star Wars fans: May the fork be with you!

Happy Father's Day!

Blog feature: Amelia Marie

We first "met" Amelia of Amelia Designs on Instagram - we were so happy to hear her thoughts on our pictures, then to see her wonderful designs.

Amelia is a wife, Mom, and creating enthusiast, and loves to create, beautify, pretty little details, and pursue a "handmade lifestyle". Her blogs has won us over with it's gorgeous pictures (she takes them all herself!) and projects. So of course we were happy to create some custom pieces at her request for a bridal shower! She was nice enough to share her photos with us.

Stripes and polka dots in peach and pink, by special request.

Beautiful, fresh color palette and natural touches.

Land of Nod suitcases and Sucre Shop forks.
Bookmark the blog Amelia Marie Designs for some more design inspiration!

If you've used our products and blogged your event, and are interested in showcasing them here, please comment on this post with the link for us to see. Thanks!

Samples + Sneak Peeks

We play a lot with new designs, trying to think a little outside the box, and sometimes come up with some pretty cool designs! Not all of them go into production, but they are still fun to see! Here are a few of my faves:
Cross Stiched Forks, and a DIY plate

Playing with patterns!
Honey, I'm comb!
We'll keep trying to keep it new and fun for you!
(Psssst... most of these images from "playtime" are uploaded pretty quickly to our instagram feed, if you're not following us there yet, why not? Search Sucreshop!)
